The secret lies in a modified frame.

His answer: the Bicymple.

The Bicymple is a direct drive, altra-compact bike
直驱式超小型自行车
with a bit of a twist:

gone are the chains and gears of modern bicycles.

Instead, the pedals are mounted to the back wheel.

This may sound crazy,

but it does cut down on the bike’s complexity
